The goals of the MMAPA are to provide a parents support network and serve as a liaison between parents and the Academy, be a focal point for dissemination of information, and actively support Academy programs and activities.

MMAPA Contributions

2004-2005
  • Sponsored 1/2 cost of printing of the 2004 Family Handbook
  • Sponsored this years Thanksgiving dinner on the Ship.
  • 5 $250.00 gifts to deserving seniors at the 2004 graduation and plan another gift in April 2005
  • Sponsored Family Weekend Welcome Area with coffee and tea.
  • Sponsored the well attended Ship Departure Reception
  • Funded the printing of the informational MMA calendar and pertinent telephones numbers magnets that were send to all incoming freshman families
  • Replaced the digital camera for the T/S State of Maine used during cruise for website pictures
  • MMAPA funded and fed 66 of 69 USCG Exam participants on January 7 immediately following the last test with 25 pizzas, cheese and crackers, shrimp cocktail, cake and soft drinks
  • A new 12’x3’ Welcome Home banner for the Ship was purchased
  • Sponsored the Trick’s End with a full page ad
