PASSPORT Requirement: All students entering Maine Maritime in a licensed program are required to have a passport for the first years training cruise. If your student does not already have one, applications are available at any U.S. Post Office.
Processing of passport applications by the U.S. Government can be lengthy. Apply as soon as possible to avoid delay. Please bring this document with you in the fall or as soon as you receive it. No Passport? NO CRUISE - NO EXCEPTIONS.
TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) cards are required of all students in the unlimited license program to participate in training cruises and cadet shipping, and for some other students for some cooperative assignments. Arrangements for obtaining a TWIC card are made through the Registrar’s Office early in the fall of the freshman year. All fees ($150) for the TWIC are paid directly by the student to Homeland Security.
